A credit is a unit of processing value at Diffbot. Credits are used for API executions like extracting websites, downloading Knowledge Graph records, and more.

The number of credits you need will depend on your monthly volume requirements. Extracting a single web page will use 1 credit. Exporting a single entity record from the Knowledge Graph is 25 credits.

Each plan tier includes an allotment of monthly renewing credits paid in advance. Upon consuming the allotment, any additional credit usage is billed pro rata at the plan rate.

Unless you require a specific feature locked to a plan (e.g. Crawl), it is generally a good idea to start with the free or Startup plan and upgrade when your usage volume scales enough to take advantage of discounted credit rates on higher tier plans.

On paid plans, you will be billed per additional credit pro rata. The overage rate is the prorated per-credit rate of your plan, nothing more.

For example, if you use 1,500,000 credits in a month on the Plus plan, your billed amount that month will be $899 (Plan Base) + 500,000 x $0.0009/credit.

On free plans, you will receive a 429 Quota Exceeded error upon reaching 10,000 credits or the rate limit. Your limits will be reset at the beginning of your billing period.
